A Meeting of the Best Cybersecurity Minds in Maryland.

On behalf of our founding partners - SAIC, the University of Maryland Baltimore County (UMBC), the Tech Council of Maryland and the National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA) along with the Maryland Department of Business & Economic Development (DBED) and Governor Martin O’Malley – the Maryland Cyber Challenge & Conference wants to thank everyone who participated in this historic two-day event. From our student and professional competitors to our distinguished speakers and conference attendees, MDC3 helped showcase the latest issues and educational and employment opportunities in cybersecurity in the region.

MDC3 was honored to host so many outstanding speakers and presenters, including Governor Martin O’Malley, UMBC President Dr. Freeman Hrabowski, National Initiative for Cybersecurity Education Director Dr. Ernest McDuffie, Internet Security Alliance President Larry Clinton and more. We are especially thankful to our sponsors, including the National Security Agency, HP, Cybercore Technologies and Cyberpoint.

And we are incredibly excited by the skills and tenacity shown by our student and professional competitors. Our 24 finalist teams showed how strong the region’s cybersecurity industry and education truly is. Congratulations to our winners – Team ICF in the professional division, Towson University in the college division and the Sherwood Cyber Warriors in the high school division – and many thanks to NSA for sponsoring the student scholarship prizes.

Check back soon for more information on the 2012 Maryland Cyber Challenge & Conference, and thanks to everyone who helped make this inaugural event a success.
